- Lead is a metallic element. It was one of the earliest known metals, used by the ancient
Egyptians and Babylonians. It is poor conductor of heat and electricity. Lead is
silver-blue, dense, relatively soft and malleable, and has low tensile strength. The
principal lead ores are galena, cerussite, and anglesite.
- Stuart provides the following remarks:
- "This is four views of a single sharp crystal of Lead from the classic locality of
Langban, Sweden. What can you say about a Lead crystal? It's really ugly! (But it's
really, really rare!)"
