Interests: Tailings around old mines in Colorado, fosils in western Ks, it seems that I collect what my eye likes, value or not, wish I new more about cutting and pollishing but never learned. Love star sapphires, wish I could find some at a more reasonable rate than that at jewelery shops. I just like rocks, no mater what they are, its more where they comae from, how they were made.

The Rock Shop site is very interesting.

Interests: I am not much of a rock hound but for interest sake, Souris, Manitoba has one of the biggest Agate deposits in North America. There is also jasper, petrified wood and epidote in the Souris Agate Pits. Anyone wanting information can e-mail me.

I enjoy your site, unfortuantly I cannot indulge in any of your selections..alas my rocks are a poor man's treasures. But I would love to link to your site. I am putting together an on line library and will have your Rock & Gem logo as your link. When it is done I invite you to come check it out. In the meantime I have a pretty good site to explore.
Wingless Angel winglessangel@email.com Bremerton, WA USA 12/18/98 7:51:10 UT
Interests: I mostly just enjoy exploring the beaches and deserts...any everything in between, I am more of a geology buff. I have a very small collection of fossils and assorted semi-precious stones and a large collection of eclectic treasures my husband refers to as my Lucy lunacy...cobble and such of all shapes and elements. Each on a science lesson in itself..even a little spiritual lesson here and there.

I'm just sitting in heaven right now! This site is wonderful! When I took early retirement, I cancelled all my magazines, including Rock and Gem, thinking I could just read them at my local library. Well, they don't carry it! So now I have a lot of catching up to do!
Vicki Lais vickilais@zebra.net Birmingham, Alabama USA 12/18/98 2:31:1 UT
Club: Alabama Mineral and Lapidary Society/Bham Paleo Society
Interests: The thrill of the hunt is what I like, finding minerals and fossils. Our back yard was bulldozed when I was around 8 years old. There were coal mine shafts in the yard and the bulldozer turned up tons of fern fossils which I put in grocery sacks and hauled to school for all my friends! Over the years it became grown over, and 11 years ago I was talking to a cousin who was leading a field trip to find fossils. So I joined the group, and have been happily hunting since then, usually 2-3 trips a month. My basement and all areas of my house are filled with rocks and fossils and my friends tease me that I'll never be blown away by a tornado. I prefer fossils or mineral specimens, and don't do any lapidary work. I also collect 'healing' rocks to use in Reiki sessions. I try to hook up with local collectors whenever I travel.

I was surfing and came across the EF,SEF,AFM ETC.sites. I was glad to see the US.Clubs in Bob's. Now I can visit all of them.

Bob's Rock Shop was one of the first websites I went to regarding rocks and minerals and I still think it is one of the best. However, being in England I've found that rockhounds in the USA have much more interest than English people! This means that trying to find dates for rock and mineral shows in England on the Internet is pretty hard. So do you think you could extend your link list to British websites? If you can, I'll be very grateful. Thank you.

Interests: I am 13 years old and I have been interested since I was 7. I like collecting specimens in their natural state, not cut or polished. From the largest to the smallest, I must have about 500 rocks and minerals which include Diamond, Dioptase, Gold and Phantom Gypsum. I am more interested in minerals than rocks.

Bob is a cool guy and so is his shop. We think we share the same interests.
