Starting up a Lapidary Shop

Dear Rockhounds,

I want to start up a lapidary shop. I aim to produce the following with gemstones:

- cabochones, geometrically cut and fine polished slabs 1/5" to 2/5" in thickness and fine polished tumbled gemstones.

I would like to produce 10 hours a day 5 days a week.

Can you provide me with a suggestive shop concept meaning what machines, what supplies and consumables i need for a start up?

I have in mind

- an 18" slab saw convertible to a trim saw. Usable with a vise in both modes
- a belt sander with various grits
- 2 or three oscillating laps for different grits or a flat lap. Which is faster?
- a vibratory tumbler with 2 or 3 baskets for different grits
- what else??
- i can learn but i am totally new to stone processing. never worked with stones before. should i start small?

I guess that's all for now.

I would appreciate your advise

Best Regards,
