Re: blue rock i found

This is glass slag and is sometimes called "Michigan Blue" and it is leftover from the smelting of iron ore in the Great Lakes region, and it is common around old iron works and smelting sites. In Sweden there is a similar famous glass slag called "Swedish Blue" and it is made into jewelry and I've cut cabochons from it. It is also from smelting iron, but this material is from ancient iron smelting sites dating back to the 1600 and 1700's. The US material usually has too many bubbles and imperfections and lacks the color of the Swedish material, but your piece has a very nice color.
