On having another look at the photos I am now going for a slag glass as well, a couple of things point to this, the rock seems to have dots over it, could these be gas bubbles? The banding is swirly like it has been formed when molten.

Please people when you post pictures of rocks for identification we need as much detail as possible in your pictures and as much physical detail as possible too. How soft/hard is it? can you scratch it with a file? Does it feel heavier than other similar sized rocks? Where did it come from? Please help us and we can help you.
