Re: Adhesive for glue-on bails?

Hi Carlos,

I have used thick (gel) type super-glue (cyanoacrylate) adhesive to make similar metal-to-stone bonds with good success.

The trick to this type adhesive is very close fits - it doesn't fill gaps well. So you'll need to shape the bails to fit if you're attaching them to curved surfaces.

If you need to fill minor gaps, then you are probably better off with a two-part epoxy type adhesive. In my experience, the slower curing epoxies tend to make stronger bonds than the fast setting types.
