Agate is tough stuff, the micro crystalline nature of the stone makes it very slow going when sawing. From experience the finer the bands the tougher it is.
Do your saws have an auto feed or weight feed? If its an auto feed can you slow the feed rate right down? Another possibility is you are glazing the cutting edge of the blade and it isn't cutting anymore, but your auto feed just keeps pushing until everything stops. To sharpen the blade you will need to run it through a brick or a piece of old silicon carbide grinding wheel, this will remove the glazed edge and show new diamonds. We burnt out a motor and then stripped the auto feed gearbox at my club with just this scenario. Replaced the motor and converted the saw to a weight feed and now everything is right again.
