Rockhounding possibilities in Alaska

Greetings all! I am headed to Alaska this Friday and have been trying to locate some possibilities for collecting on the trip. While rock hunting won't be the primary focus of the trip, I always like to try to find something and am taking a few "traders" with me. We start out in Anchorage, head to Fairbanks (and Denali) then come back to Glen Hwy, back toward Anchorage, then down to the Kenai, all in two weeks. I have read that Caribou creek can be interesting for jaspers and such. If anyone here has any good ideas for a quick rock hunt, love to hear it. I tried contacting a gem and min club in anchorage, to no avail. Thanks in advance!
