Rock with numerous crystals, unknown origin

I acquired this rock from my Dad's garden, in NC. I'm sending a link to my website for a photo, as it has not been posted in the photo gallery, on this site, yet.

Dad picks up rocks often (I get it honestly). He has no recollection of where or when he picked it up. It could have been acquired in PA, TX, TN, DE, VA, or NC.

Despite that worthless information, can anybody tell me what it is? It has 1/2 a dozen different colors visible to the naked eye. With a loop, there are that many more colors in the crevices, or miniature caves, throughout its body.

Thanks.
