Anneal 6 Gauge Solid Copper Wire

Hi Youll

I have a question that may be a little far a field for Rock Net , but I know there is a number of people who can think out of the box out there. So here goes has anyone tried to anneal 6 gauge solid copper wire before?

I have annealed everything from 8 gauge copper down to 21 gauge with no trouble.
I am using a propane torch like you would get at Home-Depot not one of those compact ones.

I feel I am not getting the wire hot enough. I really don't want to invest in an oxy acetylene torch.
