Agates and jaspers are the clear favorites. If you are unable to find or identify these, then toss into the tumbler all the pretty rocks she finds. My daughter picked up many rocks early on and I kept these until I had a full load. I knew that some would not survive even the first stage of the process while others would not be especially attractive even after the last stage. She learned from those experiences what would work and what would not. At four years of age she was learning about hardness, brittleness, and other aspects of geology. At college her major was geology. Go figure.
