Re: Re: Speed of Star Diamond Model 6P-8 ?
Unfortunately I forgot to mention that I have grinding wheels but no saw blade on this model.
The grinding wheels are 6 inch diameter. I think I can see Max Speed of 3600 rpm on the wheel, but that doesn't tell me what the optimum speed should be.
If anyone has 6 inch grinding wheels, could you get the following information.
Speed of motor? - this should be around 1200, 1800, 2400, or 3600 rpm. Look on the motor label.
Size of the drive pulley - measure from edge to edge through the center.
Size of the driven pulley on the arbor - measure from edge to edge through the center.
With these three pieces of information from one machine, I can calculate the speed of the wheel.
NOTE: If you can't measure the pulleys through the center - Measure from the shaft to the outer edge and also measure the shaft diameter. If you give me these two measurements for each pulley, I can still calculate the information to get the proper speed.
