Dirk,
You have been given some very good advice here. Now it is up to you to make your choice as to what to do. But before you do, think about what living a lifetime with an injury that could have been prevented would be like. It may not be to you but to someone you love. So I also say replace the wheels and be happy. You can always use the old wheels to clean your saw blades by cutting through them as you would rocks. Just a thought.
