Trying to I.D. this rock

I found this rock while walking around on Bowling Ball Beach just outside of Gualala California. I am trying to figure out if its something special or just a run of the mill rock. It almost appears to have an obsidian inner but I do know that is not the case. Also there is a hole in the rock that seems really strange as well.

I cant figure out how to attached a picture however I can be emailed and I will forward the picture.


Any info on the type of rock or about what may have caused this hole is greatly appreciated
