You know Becky it has been awhile since I cut this piece and I honestly don't remember the particulars about the cutting. I do have a small piece from this that I will cut and refresh my memory. The darker material that could possibly be Hematite has a flaky crystaline appearance, flakes that flash when you roll the piece in the light. That is what is confusing to me. If that is typical or even a possibility for Hematite then that is something I didn't know. A friend of mine really likes this piece and asked if I could do a cab from it. She likes the feathery appearance that runs through most of this material.
