Bob,
I was looking in the back of the Nat. Audo. fieldguide, I spoke of it in another response, and there are several examples of types of rock that look close in texture and color. The one thing I was trying to get clear was the type of crystals in the rock. I believe I am quite satisfied with corundum. I like the fact that this material is a cat's eye type. Looking forward to getting all the crystals out intact and hoping for some nice size ones.
