Pull off the road anywhere that is not posted along Rose River west of Syria. Search the stream cobbles. True unakite is rare and of course tends to show up the farther you walk the river from any easy access point. Look for blue quartz (rare) and various colors of jasper. Pistachio/epidote and dull red/? and basalt combinations are common but can be interesting too. At least one source is near the headwaters of the Rose River but is in the National Park so take pictures only there.
