Treatment method

Hello All,
I am looking for a solution to a problem I am having. I have one piece of Crazy Lace rough in particular (about a 13 lb. piece) that is giving me problems. I bought this rough many years ago and only recently have started working with it, so there is no chance of returning the material. Those familiar with Crazy Lace know the randomness to the patterns. When attempting to work the stone in all phases, cutting and grinding and polishing, at any given point the material will seperate along the layer line as if nature didn't "seal the deal". It is as if there isn't enough bonding between layers. So, is there a method I can use to impregnate the material with a bonding agent? And what solution or agent should I use. Would a product like Opticon work? I have never had a need to do this so I am unfamiliar with the whole process. What would give me the best adhesion?
