Thanks for the link. Interesting reading. I have to wonder though (as a non-geologist), in refering to the quasicrystal as a mineral, it appears as though they know the makeup of the material (it's chemical composition) so why not give it a mineral name? After all we have crystals and minerals within those crystal systems. With that in mind will that open the door for other quasicrystal minerals? We can only wait and see and maybe new quasicrystal minerals will be discovered. Dibbies on the first gem quality crystals!
