Re: I have a rock grinder / polisher from Star Diamond
First you could let us all know where it is you live. Maybe someone would be interested that lives near you. But you could start by posting it here on Bob's site under the classifieds. You could post it on your local Craig's list. There is also E-Bay. Check to see if there is a local Mineral Club, maybe someone there would be interested. And on and on. As for value the fact that someone would have to rebuild the thing has taken some of the value out of it, not much though. Also, I could be wrong but I think Star Diamond has been out of business for some time. So your unit has some age. I have a Star vibrating lap that works quite well and is probably of the age of your unit. The two together would make for a nice pair. Rustoleum makes a hammered paint that is just about the exact color that Star used on there equipment. I am just about done reconditioning a Crown 8" Cab Unit. I found the right color Rustoleum Hammered Paint that is a perfect match to make the unit look like new. If you were to take the time and recondition your unit it may very well pay off. But if you just don't have the time or just aren't interested in doing so than I suspect you will have to accept the fact that your return on the unit will be minimal.
