Re: Modifying Diamond Pacific Genie water system
That is a nice system that bob has - I finally gave up on my genie spritzer, not because they were delivering dirty water, but because they never worked well the belt was always getting wet and slipping - finally to quit altogether - I looked into replacing the whole pump unit, but decided that why replace something that I never felt worked very well except for the first month. Well I have a ameritool flat lap that i keep right next to my genie. I took the mount off the ameritool and mounted it above the genie and lap and use the ameritool drip system with one extended hose (one stopcock) and move that hose over holes I drilled in the top of my genie guards. The hole placement in the guard (white plastic over the wheels) is a little tricky because there is a metal housing that is in the way so the end wheels (80 3000) are off center a bit but work fine. It took me all of 15 minutes to complete. If you dont have ameritool flat lap they sell replacement parts. One stopcock one hose move it over the working wheel - simple effective. I don't drain the pans by hose, I just dump them when they get full. The reservoir that ameritool uses is only about 8 ounces, but lasts quite long unless you really dump the water to the wheel.
a link to the lap I am talking about =
The black reservoir I use is centered above the pictured machine.
Good luck whichever way you go!
