Re: Re: Beginner Faceting

Hi Trisa, My Dad just passed away at the age of 92. He began "rockhounding" around the age of 45. He read everything he could get his hands on. He bought a faceting machine and dug some crystals. He practiced on the crystals until he learned to facet. He knew as much as any geologist and was a master faceter. What I guess I am trying to say is that where there is a will, there is a way. Bob has a good suggestion and I know there are many people here who can help you. Don't be afraid to just start. You will make mistakes but that's part of learning. You will soon find something that really interests you and off you will go. I faceted a color change sapphire and I've had so many people want to buy it from me but I just can't part with it because I took something that looked like nothing and turned it in to something beautiful. Get excited and get going!
