Dear Joe, Have never polished shells before.. (a "quahog" is east coast for a razor clam or shellfish of similar type? right?...we dont have them out here in Jamaica..lotsa conch tho !) .. What MONTANA says makes sense.. .. in my experience, putting the polished object with the attached dop in the freezer for a few minutes will usually cause a shrinkage differential between the two, and the dop will pop off with very light pressure.. take care , tony
