Re: How to polish New Zealand Jade?

Though it is terribly messy, I have always found that polishing jade with chrome oxide on leather works the very best. I have even fixed several orange peeled pieces this way. You will want to smooth the orange peel off on your last sanding steps before using the chrome oxide. Chrome oxide has lost favor because it stains hands and clothing etc. However, for certain stones, it is the very best polish, and the only one that really works.
