$250 seems like a very cheap price for a sphere machine, about what it would cost you to build your own without grinding cups, and considerably less than the cost of commercially build machines. I am not sure what you mean by tired, but the cost of used replacement motors for the Richardson Ranch machine is about $50 each and diamond grinding cups alone are about $150 for three of 3 inch size. Those are the major parts that need replacing. You should be able to price a used machine based on those replacement costs.
