Faux jade means fake jade. Raymond's photos do appear that it could be adventurine. Most jades will not scratch with a knife. Although some people think that if it scratches with a knife it is not jade, however, there are some nephrites that do scratch with a knife, so that test by itself is not a reliable test for jade.
