Re: UV Lights

Warren, first off, most agates in my experience do not fluoresce because of the presence of iron (hematite). One notable exception is chalcedony bands in agates. Chalcedony fluoresces a very nice light green under short wave UV light. Short wave lamps are very expensive and available from rock shops, lapidary suppliers and on the Internet. My favorite on-line source is Kingsleynorth.com.
