What constitutes a geode?

I guess I am a little unsure about calling the hollow nodule a geode that the pieces I have shown came from. Is it a geode if it has a hollow center? I have bought agates, that are sold as such, that ended up being hollow in the center. Are they no longer agates at that point? Are they now to be identified as geodes? If you have an educated answer I would certainly appreciate it.
