A quick dip in muriatic acid, then a thorough rinse with lots of water will make the copper shine, then spray with a clear lacquer to keep it that way. Always treat acids with care, use in a well-ventilated area, avoiding any fumes. You can buy muriatic acid at Home Depot or at swimming pool supply outlets.
