Tumbling Wampum?

I recently found tumbled "wampum" (large sea clam shells), polished and made into jewelery. The shells have a beautiful purple inside and were used by the Indians as currency and are referred to as wampum-the more purple visible in the shell, the more value as currency. Any tumbling/polishing suggestions?
