Mysterious Specimen

Hi, would anyone have time to help me put a finger on a type of mineral I found while rock hounding. I would greatly appreciate it.

It is mostly light brown on the outside on the inside it is marble green. It looks very similar to a piece of pine cone. I find them embedded in black tourmaline in southern California. I have photos to help also.
