I make canes with wood shafts and stone handles. I live in Az and just pick up interesting rocks form everywhere. I found several rocks that I want more of. The stone is 6 -7 hardness, it is also tough which I need for my work. The stone is very fine grained, grinds and polishes well. It is light tan/gray with reddish fungus/moss like veins covering a verying percentage of the volume. It appears that the fungus veins are concentrated at the outer surface of the individual rocks.
