Hi Everyone, Manning Valley Rock Hounds Lapidary Club NSW Australia. Our club's only been going a couple of years and most of the members are beginners. We have bench grinders and recently bought a UT Faceting Machine so are going great guns, but we have a problem with the soft 3,000 diamond impregnated bench grinder wheels, they tear apart too quickly with the heavy use, I want to try and make up an 8 inch soft flat lap for their cabbing, and charge it with 3,000 diamonds, thought of wetsuit rubber, or leather but what medium would I use to impregnate the diamonds? Thought of some sort of wax, or maybe glue (but what sort, does anyone know anything that might work?
