Bill,
I recommend that you do this stone at the end of the day's cutting-
it will make a "bloody mess" in your cabbing machine. I guess it's
called "hematite" because it looks like "hemoglobin" when it's cut.

I just did a banded quartz/hematite stone and put it in Opticon after
polishing, just to see how it would look. It turned out very well -
the Opticon darkened the hematite and made the bands stand out
more.
