Old Polish

I've not used my rock tumbler since the mid 1970's and have just recently started using it again. The cerium oxide and tin oxide both didn't do very well in putting shine on the agate and petrified wood, as compared to results of +40 years ago. I've bought new cerium oxide and will try again. Any suggestions on what to do with my old stock of polish?

Thanks,

Alan
