Seraphenite is very soft but the areas with radiating crystal structire are typically solid and easy to cut. I shape on a 220 diamond and finish with Linde A on wet leather.

On every rough chunk that I have cut there is an area near the base that is comprised of porous loosely consolidated crystals and this material will not cut or polish as it is way to friable and crumbly.
