Re: Stacey's Photo - Limb Cast
It does look like South Fork Limb casts:
I think the value may be a little lower, although it is always worth what someone is willing to pay.
This is a large piece, which adds value, but it is not a whole round, which subtracts a lot. The center is also massive crystal and not agate or finer druze, which can subtract value too. There are dendrites, which may add value.
There are plenty of fist-sized to double-fist sized whole round pieces with attractive pink translucent agate, good exterior detail, and possibly some white center bands that are selling in the $40 to $80 range. Most of these have a cut and polished face. (One is on ebay now, you can google South Fork Limb Cast to find others for sale.)
It is hard to tell if the side with the dendrites is part of the original outer round. IF you have a quarter-round it is worth more than just a chunk out of a stump.
If you had a whole round section of log with pinker agate it could well be worth $300 or $400 dollars. Depending on exact size and condition and possibilities to polish one or more surfaces, this one would fall anywhere in the $80 to $300 range, but I suspect less likely to be near $300.
