Amy, I looked over your photos and it appears that you found a granitic-pegmatite location. Pegmitite is the general name given to an igneous (volcanic) vein that often contains gems such as aquamarine, beryl, emerald, topaz and more. I can't tell if you found any gems - the light blue stones could be aquamarine. Mostly what you found is quartz, smoky quartz, rose quartz, quartz stained with hemitite (redish), mica (the flat book-like shiny specimens), and some agate. You didn't say where you found the specimens, but it looks like a promising site for gem hunting.
