Looks like coal slag from a coal furnace or train. We find it all the time around old smelters and along tracks that had coal fired steam engines. Water tumbles it to the round shape you have. If it was obsidian it would be hard and not lightweight. ry a hardness test on it but the semi cubic and uneven fracture patern I see on the photos suggests coal slag rather than the way obsidian fractures which is more like glass.
