Laws related to selling petrified wood, etc.

Every summer my wife and I set up a roadside stand in Cooke City, Montana, and sell off parts of our collection as well as some jewelry my wife makes. I am careful about selling petrified wood, however, because I seem to remember a law prohibiting selling wood one has collected from public lands. Is anyone familiar with this law (or maybe any other laws I should know about)? Thanks.
