Hi Jay, I've got some of those geodes filled with sandstone from the Kimberley in northern Western Australia. It's like ironstone on the outside (I know because I put one on the grinder and it glowed red hot) and bands of coloured sandstone (tightly packed sand) on the inside. Some have bands of white and purple, others orange and yellow. The aborigines used to break them open and grind the colour up with water to paint on their bodies. We just hollowed them out and used them for ashtrays. You'll always find a use for something. Regards Jenny.
