Anthony, that's not a stupid question at all. It's fortunate for you that you did ask. Tumbling any material of different hardness will destroy the softer stones. Quartz and agate are fine together. Your jade and opal must be tumbled by themselves, not together. It's also a good idea to include cushioning material in with your opal and jade runs, such as plastic pellets, to prevent scratching and chipping.
