It appears to be an agate. You should try scratching it with a knife and see if it scratches. Secondly you need to cut or have someone cut some cabochons out of the material and see just how nice it looks as a lapidary material. Most of it seems to be a subtle pattern and color. It is worth collecting, but I doubt you can make a lot of money selling it because of it's subtle nature. People usually like eye-popping eye candy, however some subtle agates have a beauty all their own, so get some cut and see how nice it looks. New agates are found all the time so what you have is not that unique and probably not very valuable.
