Hi Warren,

I never did dig at the Holley Blue site. From the material I've seen it appears to be a seam agate of sorts--formed in cracks in the host rock. Most pieces are in the 1/4 to 1 inch thick range. I have seen larger pieces, and about 7 or 8 years ago I bought a fractured slab on Ebay that came from a fist sized chunk (Just posted a pic of it). The color wasn't the best, and the fractures were pretty bad, but it was a nice example of how large some of the Holley could get. It would have been nice if the entire site could have been professionally mined. There is probably some nice material still in the ground, deeper than any of the pits that were dug. I've seen some of your pics, and that is nice material!
