Arizona Mining & Mineral Museum closing

The Arizona Governors office is closing the Arizona Mining & Mineral Museum in downtown Phoenix to replace it with a state centennial display by 2012. This is apparently a done deal. There has been no mention of the fate of the museums large and important mineral collection by the state, so it is assumed it will be mothballed or auctioned off.
