Highland 24" cutting speed?

How fast should I expect to cut a rock 3.5 inches long by 2.5 inches high?
I am using the fast pulley (smallest) on my Highland 24" saw and it takes almost 30 minutes to cut through a medium hard material.
Is this normal. What rate should I expect?
