I understand what they are saying about lubricants seeming to extend blade life on one hand, but on the other it seems to be a contradiction: diamond blades "cut" thru stone by abrasion, not teeth, but the whole point of a lubricant is to reduce abrasion, which then makes the cutting (=abrasion) process less effective. It sounds like a lubricate extends blade life simply by reducing the abrasion stress. In other words, the blade is less effective with a lubricant, so it seems to last longer. I would think simply reducing blade speed and using water (w/rust inhibitor) would get you exactly the same results, but without the oil mess.
