I am currently cutting some African color change garnet and have also cut some from Sri Lanka. These garnets do NOT need to be cut to see the color change. An earlier post by John is correct. You just need to look at a stone with an incandescent bulb and then a fluorescent to see the color change. Looking through the stone or seeing the reflected light from the stone will work.
