The only garnets I have seen are in a matrix that has asbestos in it....We have been told to be very carefuland to wear masks when working it....The Garnets are peppercorn sized and break away fairly easily. Some of the matrix stays attached and must be "flaked" off. Time consuming but not difficult...This matrix is impervious to acid... a real pity..
