The book Rick book recommend “Gemstone & Mineral Data Book" by John Sinkankas is a very good book a lot of interesting data. The only problem it is out of print. You may be able to pick up a used copy the way I did a year or so ago on line. The only thing I would say negative about the book is it needs a index to help you find the information that you are looking for. If you can’t find a copy book let me know and I’ll try to scan it and E-Mail it to you.
